Glenwood Springs

We started off taking a hike to Hanglng Lake. It was only 2 miles but very hot and steep. We actually had to sit in line for a parking spot. This place is very popular. They wouldn't allow dogs on the trail so I thankfully found a spot in the shade and opened the windows for Lola. We gave her food and water. The kids complained a bit on the way up, but they thought the view was amazing. Camilla commented that my Honest shirt wasn't good to wear because I wasn't honest when I tried to sneak Pringles into Elitches. After the hike, we were all starving, so we grabbed Subway. Then, we set up our tent and took a walk. When we arrived back at our site, there were 2 men hammering in our tent. They said it blew over. I thanked them and then hammered all of the extra ties into the ground. The next day, we went for a hike at Red Mountain. The kids played on the Colorado river. Then, we came back and went swimming. La Junta KOA Campground

This place was a lot of fun and our first time staying at a KOA. It was 100 degrees every day, but we stayed cool with all of the water activities. Inflatables and Bubbles https://youtu.be/sjN8AFNEiM4 Swimming Pool This video shows why Carly is so tough. She asked Connor to do this over and over again. https://youtu.be/nnOsYRETJDs Bent's Fort This was my favorite part of the trip. The kids all sent postcards to the family. La Junta City Park This was a cool little park where Lola could cool off in the water. There were many ducks. https://youtu.be/4YFYbE8ntc0

Camping at Jefferson Lake (Kenosha Pass)

This was a camping trip that I did with just the older 2 kids. The dynamic was very different without little Carly. We had many adult conversations and there was a lot less fighting. I booked a campsite at Aspen campground. I thought the campground was in Aspen, Colorado. It was in a little town called Jefferson, Colorado. It was very rustic with no internet access for miles. The road up to the campground was very rugged and I had wished that I brought the Suburu, rather than the van. After I arrived, I didn't know what to do. I had planned all kind of activities in Aspen. But, this place was not close to Aspen at all. The campground was about 10 miles from Kenosha pass. The first thing we did was hike a little bit along the Colorado trail. We saw a moose right away. https://youtu.be/-OmZvcUxE10 We are a little afraid of moose now since Lola almost got charged by one. We made sure that we didn't get too close. The next thing we did was walk around Jefferson lake. It wa...
