My kids have known nothing different than their Mom as a runner. They all ran in my belly when I was pregnant. They grew up riding in jogging strollers and spending their weekend mornings with Daddy while Mommy was running races. I always thought they would hate running because they were just born into this lifestyle. Just over the past year, all three of them have shown a huge passion for running. Now, if I tell them that I am going for a run, they all put on their running shoes and ask to come with me. When I tell them that I am racing, they want me to sign them up too. They all ran their little hearts out this morning and saw Mom take a Cherry Creek Sneak podium for the 1st time. My Mom is the one that first told me about the Cherry Creek Sneak. She does the 5k with her friend every year. I registered for the 10 mile in 2012 and fell in love with the course. I did it again in 2014. This was my 3rd time running the race. I originally wanted to sign Camilla up for theatre because she has so much interest in the arts. She goes to multiple plays with me every year and loves to design costumes and art. When Carly found out that I was going to sign Camilla up for theatre, she wanted to do it too. They were both so excited to do this and even more excited that they get to perform Wonka! Camilla got cast as Bianca Reid and Carly got cast as the Blue Oompa Loompa. Thankfully, Carly learned how to read just before the first practice so she was able to study her lines. They got an amazing instructor who told me that Camilla has the right amount of sass for this character. We also made candy props of lollipops, hard candy, ice cream, and microphones. Camilla memorized her lines very quickly and was always reading her script in the car. As a reward, I bought her a new pair of high heels. Carly struggled a bit when being asked to learn her lines. I read about Horsetooth half marathon in one of my running magazines. It was listed as one of the most scenic half marathons, so I wanted to do it. Outside of Pikes Peak and New York, this is the race that I was most looking forward to. Girls on the Run also listed this race on their approved race calendar, so it worked out perfectly. My husband mentioned that there was a big storm coming. When I asked him what day, he said Saturday and Sunday. I got a little worried because the race was on Sunday. The race organizers were very good at communicating and letting us know how they were going to deal with the storm. They told us that the race most likely would not get cancelled, but it could just start later in the morning or go on a different course. I REALLY did not want them to change the course because the course is what makes the race so beautiful. There is a big element of challenge in this marathon because it goes uphill for almost 2 miles and then goes downhill with a few hill...

I love the sweet young lady that you are turning into. You are always the one who doesn't forget to say, "Please" and "Thank you". You keep yourself looking nice by putting together pretty outfits. This year, you decided to grow your hair long and it motivated me to learn a lot of different braids and hairstyles. I absolutely love the time I get to spend making your hair pretty. You have become my little Mommy's helper by setting the table, clearing the table, making tea, cleaning, and being my assistant soccer coach. You are also my biggest helper on camping trips. You love to help me set up the tent and organize everything in the tent. You also love to hang out with me at the campfire when everyone else goes to bed. I have registered for some trail races so that I could work on my downhill running. In the past, I have always done well on the uphill but struggle on the downhill. Xterra 12k is at Cheyenne Mountain State park and it is beautiful. Unfortunately, I got sick before this race. Illness has been going through our family with headaches, earaches, tummy aches, and body aches. I caught it on the night before my race. I decided to take some pain reliever and run the race anyway. I placed myself in the middle of the start pack because I wasn't too confident that I would do well. This was a bad idea, because I got stuck behind a lot of slower people and the track was too skinny for me to pass them. I ended up finding a spot to pass everyone and ended up having no one around me. It was so fun and I started jumping off rocks and running fast, but I had already lost a lot of time. We adopted Lola on January 30th. I had puppy fever and we had room in our heart for another dog. We didn't have any specific breed in mind, but we were sure we wanted a big dog and it had to be a puppy. We also wanted to adopt from a rescue shelter. Lola was the first dog we asked to see and I immediately fell in love with her. We brought Isaac to the shelter because we would not get a dog that didn't get along with him. They got along great! She was listed as a Mastiff mix, so we expected her to get big. We had a few people mention that she looked like a Pitbull and a family member told us that we needed to get rid of her because our kids would not be safe with a Pitbull in the house. I did some research and did not find any significant research to find that Pitbulls are dangerous. Pitbull attacks usually happen when owners do not raise their dogs correctly. So, I focused on socializing Lola by taking her on hikes and to all of the girls soccer games. We took her to Home...
