Kids 1st time skiing March 23, 2017 at Ski Cooper

I have not been skiing/snowboarding since I got pregnant with Connor 11 years ago. I never thought I would go back. But, I finally had the courage and time to teach the kids to ski. We woke the kids up at 5:30am on a Thursday morning and they got right up and were so excited for their first time skiing. It took about 2 ½ hours to drive to Cooper, but they read quietly in the back seat. When we arrived, we realized that Connor hadn't brought any shoes, except flip flops. We continued to get ready and rent our equipment. Lloyd and the kids kept asking for poles and I told them that it is best to learn without poles. It took the kids quite a while to figure out how to click in and out of their skis. Then, we found a little hill and I tried to teach them to make a v with their skis to stop. They all just kept flying down the hill and falling. Then, I would help them up and push them back up the hill. We finally figured out that Ski Cooper had a bunny hill with a little magic carpet t...

We had back to back games today. Carly's game was first and started at 10am. Carly still plays on a small field and they do not allow goalkeepers. The coach of the team we were playing showed up late and then stuck a girl in the goal as a goalkeeper. I told her that they do not allow that in this league and she told me that she is not using a goalkeeper. When our team moved to the other side of the field, her goalkeeper stayed right in front of the goal. I told the coach that her player is not following the rules and she argued with me. I got angry but kept my cool. All of the players on my team were telling me that the other team was cheating and I said that they were, but we need to be better and play by the rules. Their cheating caused us to lose 5-1, so I talked to the director. The director said that she will keep a close eye on this team for future games. Connor's game was next and they won by a lot. Connor played well but was very confused about where he was suppose...

Great Wolf Lodge

There were tons of people at the lodge when we arrived. We couldn't believe how big the place was. We arrived at 1pm and our room was already ready for us. The kids loved the little den with a bunk bed that had their own TV in it. All of the kids also got wolf ears. There were many employees doing dances and arts and crafts. We immediately went to the pool and pretty much didn't leave until we needed to eat. The floor drops out from underneath you go into a 20 foot free fall. We went on this at least a dozen times. Every time I did the ride, I would stand up with my feet shaking.
