Sleigh Ride by Connor McFarlin

Chapter One
The Train Whistle

It was Christmas Eve, and every dog was sleeping in their crates. Sam was snoring so loud that the animals outside could even hear it. The coyotes started howling.

There were seven talking dogs in the house; Sam, Lola, Sadie, Ariel, Shiba, Boomer, Isaac.

Lola was the first one to wake up. She tried to go back to sleep but she couldn't. She heard another strange sound. She heard a whistle, and she opened the crate with her metal breaking tail. Then she jumped out of her crate.

She heard someone yell, "Tickets please if you want to go to the polar express!!!" Lola jumped with joy saying, "Hooray!" She thought, "What about the other dogs? I cant just leave them there all alone." She ran over to the wall then smacked it, she woke everyone up and it made the house shake. She yelled "Everyone get your suitcases! Go outside and sneak in the train!"

Everybody did what she said but they didn't make it onto the train, so the dogs ran into the garage, very tired. They jumped into the car in the garage. Lola hopped in the front seat and started driving toward the train. The other dogs stood on the car. They were almost there when they jumped off the car into the train. They barely made it. Sam tripped and grabbed Isaac's foot. Isaac had a strong leg, so he managed to get Sam on the train.

The dogs went under the seat. They saw puppies and all the puppies attacked and played with them.
It was all fun until someone said, "No puppies allowed on this train!" The man said, "Anyone have puppies?" The man ducked down and looked into the seat. "Oh, no!" thought Lola. "This is it."

Chapter 2
The Midnight Horse

Every dog in that seat dodged to the next seat, and then to the next seat. The man got up, and and went into the drivers room.

The dogs started playing again. The train was extremely hot. Suddenly, tons of men busted out of the drivers room. They where holding hot chocolate.

Lola looked out the window and saw a stallion running across the track. Lola did a soft bark to tell everyone that there is a stallion here. Then, everybody sat down. Lola took a piece of paper that she had in her suitcase. Lola started writing. When she was done, she read aloud:
"Isaac, get some string"
"Ariel, Get some leather"
"Sam, Get some glue"

Then the dogs got their things. A hot chocolate fell on Lola. She looked at the stallion a little closer and saw tons of reindeer on a sleigh. The dogs came back. Lola said, "Make a saddle." When the dogs finished, they gave it to Lola. She yelled, "Everyone get on that sleigh!" Every one of the dogs jumped on a reindeer.

In that sleigh was Santa. He said, "Ho Ho Ho Come in my sleigh, Puppies." Lola looked like a blur, running all the way into the sleigh. Santa said, "What do you want for Christmas?" Lola said, "This is a cool adventure!" "Oh Ho Ho Ho" said Santa. Isaac said, "Santa you're next" Isaac hopped into the sleigh, saying, "Being with you is my favorite thing for Christmas." "Ready?" said Santa. Suddenly, Ariel teleported to Santa. "Ariel, You don't need to go that fast", said Santa. "Ok", said Ariel . "I like the Santa Express train", said Ariel. Santa smiled

Chapter 3
PRESENTS!!!

The puppies and dogs were digging in Santa's sleigh. Suddenly, the bag and the sleigh started raising up and up and up and up. Every dog in that sleigh poked their heads out the bag, saying "Wow!

It is a miracle!" Unfortunately, the bag fell off. "Bark!!! Bark!!! Bark!!! Bark!!!" the dogs screamed. "The dogs were going to crash into Santa's factory. "Oh, No!" said Lola. Then, they crashed. Lola opened her eyes, and then got up. They were in a tube, sliding down and down. When they were at the bottom, they were in an oven!!! The rest of the dogs woke up. They protected themselves with their suitcases. This was not going well! Lola managed to break the glass. The dog team could run out. Unfortunately, they fell of a cliff. Santa saved them before they fell. Santa said, "Are you all right?" "Yes", said every dog. "Come on! Lets go to the giant Christmas tree." "Ok", said Lola. They dashed into the night, soaring like an eagle. When they were to a giant Christmas tree, the dogs hopped out of the sleigh. "WOW!!!" said Lola. There was this huge Christmas tree! The dogs walked and walked. They saw reindeer snowmen and yeti's, and Rudolph. Now, they wanted to go home.

Chapter 4
Home

The dogs asked Santa if he could bring them home. Santa said that they could go home. The dogs hopped in the sleigh and started moving up. The dogs were very tired. Isaac passed out. It was time to go home. When they reached home, the dogs said Goodbye. Then, all the dogs went in their house and went to bed. Lola opened her eyes. She went downstairs. Presents filled the house. Lola opened her presents. Her favorite present was Donnor, the reindeer.
