End of Spring 2016 soccer season
The girls are finishing their 6th soccer season this year. This was a crazy weather season for soccer with so many practices getting cancelled and games getting moved. Every time a game or practice got cancelled, the girls would ask me if I could take them out to play, anyway. They would go out and play soccer every day if they could!
Carly's team won every game, except for 1. She scored at least 1 goal in every game. She had a good system going with a boy on her team. He would play defense and pass the ball up her and she would dribble the ball into the goal. There was one game where her team scored 10 goals and she scored 8 of the goals. She was pretty proud of herself. I love coaching her team, but I get frustrated because some parents expect me to babysit their 6 year old. Some of the 6 year olds mess around and don't listen to me. Carly loves that I am her coach but she sometimes tries to correct me in my calls and coaching.
Camilla's team lost every game, except for 1. We had signed her team up for advanced coaching, which put the team on a different league. Unfortunately, the advanced coaching never happened and I got really angry at REAL soccer. REAL soccer is also is changing their ages for teams, so Camilla is going to be split from most of her team. We will be moving her to a different league next season and I am hoping that I can find the time to coach her team, as well.
Even though Camilla's team lost many games, Camilla played very well. Camilla can play well in every position, including goalie, so her coach moves her all around to different positions. She plays excellent defense and is aggressive when getting the ball from players. She has excellent endurance and can keep playing without getting tired. She also has a really strong, accurate kick and can score a goal from very far away. She always complains when the coach calls her out so another player can come in and play. She wants to play the whole game.
