Prelims

Connor and Camilla's prelims were first on July 10th, just a day after we got back from camping. Grandma came to watch them.

Camilla's times were slower than normal. I think this is because she was tired from camping. She swam freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly. She has only competed in butterfly, one other time.


Camilla Freestyle 58th place time: 1.19.98 (previous time 1.00.91)



Camilla Butterfly (disqualified)

Camilla Backstroke 24th place time: 1.07.71 (previous time 1.04.62)


They need to be in 16th place or faster, to qualify for Championships. Connor was faster in every stroke, except backstroke. Unfortunately, he would have qualified for Championships, if he had te same time as before, or faster in backstroke.

Connor Backstroke 18th place time: 1.16.26 (previous time 1.04.62)

Connor Freestyle 35th time: 1.03.10 (previous time 1.02.19)

Connor Breaststroke 21st time: 1.30.38 (previous time 1.18.26)

Carly's Championships were on July 11th, Grandpa came to watch.

Carly Freestyle 17th place time: 24.48 (previous time 26.34)

Carly Backstroke 21st place time: 30.56 (previous time 30.64)

Carly Breaststroke 12TH PLACE time: 35.62 (previous time 38.8)

Carly qualified for Championships in breaststroke!

Estes Park Campground, July 1-5, 2022

Estes Park was the perfect place to get away from fireworks. Our campground was perfect and was full of families so we got peace and quiet, even on the 4th of July. There was no fire ban so we spent a lot of time sitting around the fire and talking.  I truly believe that these trips bond our family closer together. Desert Heat & Big Wins: Our Phoenix Adventure March 17-24, 2026

High in a towering saguaro near Mesa and Apache Junction, a small woodpecker peeked from its hollowed nest to survey the desert before swiftly vanishing back into the shadows. . Of course, I couldn't visit Mesa without hitting the trails. Before the swim meet humidity took over my day, I headed out to  Usery Mountain Regional Park  for a  4.5 mile run .  Coming from the higher elevations of Castle Rock, I thought I’d be ready for the challenge, but the Sonoran Desert is its own beast. The terrain at Usery is beautiful sweeping views of the Goldfield Mountains and trails lined with those architectural Saguaros, even though I was terrified of seeing a rattlesnake. We kicked off the trip with a visit to Saguaro Lake, spending the day at Butcher Jones Beach. From Boise to the Podium: Records, Firsts, and Unforgettable Memories March 11-17 2026

What an incredible week in Boise! Between the intense competition, personal milestones, and some much-needed team bonding, it’s safe to say this trip will go down in the books as a massive success. I am so incredibly proud of Carly. She had an absolute standout meet, proving that all her hard work is paying off in a big way. Among her highlights: • Helping set a new team record in the 400 relay. • Securing a hard-earned time cut in the 200 free. • Helping the ROCK relay team bring the heat to earn 3rd place in the 800 relay, edging out 4th place by a nail-biting .07 seconds! Best of all, Carly is officially heading home with a medal! It wasn't just a big week for the swimmers; it was a huge milestone for me, too. I had my very first experience officiating at the elite level! Getting to work the deck alongside so many fantastic Colorado officials was an absolute honor and an experience I won't soon forget.
