Xterra Indian Peaks Triathlon

I almost backed out of this race because I didn't feel skilled on the mountain bike. But, after presiding the course twice, I decided to do it.

The water was at a temperature in the 50s and was so cold that I went into shock and could not put my face in the water until I made it to the first buoy. After that, I swam fine.

I had to run up a big hill to get to my bike after the swim.

Lola started crying when she saw me. She wanted to come too!

The bike was not all that bad. I was used to all of the rocks and steep terrain.

I actually struggled a bit on the run because it was at such a steep uphill and my legs were so tired, by that point.

I was so happy to be done!!

I was surprised to find out that I finished 2nd place in my division and 6th place overall.

Travis, Jenna, and Kaia were at the campsite when we got back to the campsite. The girls loved running around together and talking to each other late in the night, in their tents.

Travis and Lloyd went on a mountain bike ride on West Magnolia trail, while we went on a hike on the rocks.

We cooked corn on the fire and had lots of marshmallows.

We stopped in Nederland, on the way back, and the girls rode on the carousel.
