Keystone January 2, 2018

My plan was to head up to Keystone on January 2nd at 6:30am. After I finished working at 5:30am, the kids were still sleeping. New Years wore them out so I let them sleep until 8am. We had to stop at Grandma's because Connor and Camilla forgot the snow boots. We arrived at Keystone at 10am and got right on the Gondola. Schoolmarm is our favorite run at Keystone and it is 3.5 miles long. which is the longest run I have seen. It is considered an easy run, but there are parts that I would consider intermediate. Schoolmarm has it all; rolling hills, challenging pitches, gentle cat walks and kid adventures zones. The only bad part about schoolmarm is that it breaks off into 2 different Keystone villages (River Run and Mountain House) Carly got separated from us last time and I got a call from Ski Safety because she told them she couldn't find her Mom. Thankfully, they have all of my contact info on their passes! This time, Connor got separated. I immediately went to the other village, but couldn't find him. After an hour, I started getting worried. Thankfully, I finally found him sitting by the ski racks, but he was pretty scared. I told him to ask for help next time. We went back to our cabin and he immediately perked back up. The kids swam in the hot tube while I made dinner. Then, we went back out for night skiing. I put my Red Wings Jersey on Connor so I wouldn't lose him. He loves it and now wants to keep it! The night skiing was wonderful! Hardly anyone was there and the kids got really good! Connor did end up going to the other village again but I saw him do it and immediately turned around and followed him. When we got back to the car at 8:30pm, it was 3 degrees! Thank goodness for hand warmers! We were frozen and immediately went back to the cabin and thawed in the hot tub! We slept and the kids got in the hot tub again when they woke up. They did some dancing and gymnastics and ate oatmeal until we had to check out. Such a fun mini vacation!
