Soccer tournament, Birthday, and Halloween in China
Carly and I ate a yummy breakfast in Soho (western food)
Soho is beautiful at night with all of the asymmetrical skyscrapers. It was designed in 2014 as a three-tower project. They have multiple businesses and restaurants and a pretty light show at night.
We also went to a Japanese tea shop in Soho.
Carly got blue tea.
For my Birthday, we went to Shichahai park for dinner. We had a private Chinese singer and it cost us about $40 for dinner.
is a historic scenic area consisting of three lakes in the north of central Beijing. They are located to the north-west of the Forbidden City and north of the Beihai Lake. Shichahai consists of the following three lakes: Qianhai, Xihai and Houhai. In imperial times it was called the Riverbank.
Carly took an art class at an art studio attached to our apartment. She has taken 2 classes there and cannot wait to go back.
Carly completed her 2nd soccer tournament at British International School in Shunyi. Her team got 2nd place and I got to see her score multiple goals.
Carly's class performed Stone Soup in the school assembly.
I got Carly's hair cut and got her a new jacket. She felt like a princess.
Here is our Chinese scale with reads the weight in kilometers in Chinese.
Carly was a fairy for Halloween.
This is our favorite Hot Pot Restaurant.
This is Carly's best friend from her class. As you can see, the Chinese are not very small. Carly and I actually feel pretty short at times. Americans Are Shrinking, While Chinese And Koreans sprout up. Chinese as well as other people are getting taller because their nutrition is getting better. When people live near starvation, children do not get tall.
I ran one of the Halloween stations at the school and dressed as an American marathon runner.
