USA Triathlon Nationals Atlantic City, NJ 9/12-9/15/2024
Atlantic City Boardwalk opened on June 26, 1870, the world-famous Boardwalk stretches along six magical and glittering miles of Atlantic City beachfront.
There is a lot of poverty in Atlantic City and I am hoping that the triathlon brings money to restore some of the city.
The run part of the triathlon was solely on the boardwalk.
I loved the swim portion. It was so salty and you just float without having to do anything.
The swim actually starts when everyone is already floating in the water. We floated there for a few minutes before the start gun went off.
The bike portion was also really neat. I have never rode on an expressway before.
It was pretty windy but I loved the new bike that I rented. It had aero bars and it felt like I was doing a plank the whole time.
There was a lot of crowds cheering me on the whole time and the setup was so neat.
I bought a USA tri suit that was really comfortable.
Running on the wood took some getting used to. The wood planks are a little loose.
Lloyd and I spent a lot of time walking on the beach and it was beautiful.
The weather was beautiful so it was nice to spend time at the expo.
The seagulls are pretty aggressive and they got into one of our bags. They didn't take anything important, thankfully.
I have a new wetsuit that is full sleeve and much warmer. I was so glad to have it.
Lloyd and I talked about even possibly moving to New Jersey in the future. We loved it there.
We went a bit away from Atlantic City to Margate City and had a nice time sitting on outside and eating fish and chips. The houses were very expensive and I loved the little neighborhoods.
We went on a dolphin cruise and unfortunately didn't see any dolphins but it was still nice to spend time in the water. There were so many people getting seasick but I did not, thankfully.
